Green Book Clarification: Section 3.54D falls under the Landscaping section of the Green Book, which states that all work must be approved. However, the Board clarified by a unanimous vote on August 24, 2011 that work done as ‘landscape maintenance’ to a property (fixing what is already there) does not require approval from the Architectural Review Committee. Anything that would be considered an improvement (changing what is there or adding something) needs approval from the Architectural Review Committee.
For example, if you have a yard that used to be grass but it has all died, you would not need approval to put new seed or sod down. However, if you want to put in mulch in that area instead of grass, you would need to get approval.
